Peppler Assistantship Program Announced

01/01/2007

Dr. Willem Peppler, Franklin trustee, funds new program.

Franklin College is proud to announce the establishment of the Peppler Assistantship Program. These paid assistantships will engage a select number of qualified students in a variety of jobs. They will work in close contact with the faculty laying the groundwork for a potential Institute for Culture, Communications and Innovation as part of a pilot program in spring 2007.

The Peppler Assistantship program is named in honor of Dr. Willem Peppler, long-time trustee of the school who has given support to provide seed money for a new Institute on the Franklin College Campus.

Peppler Assistants will typically work ten hours per week. Projects may include the following:

• Researching masters programs in Innovation, Communications and Cultural Studies
• Researching granting possibilities
• Performing comparative program analyses
• Organizing conferences

Application forms are available on the Franklin College website and are due on or before January 21, 2007 to Michele Jefferson in the Office of the President. Interviews will be held in the week that follows and successful applicants will be notified by the end of January. Work will begin on February 1.
