Ten students chosen

The Peppler Assistantship Program is off to a strong start. Ten Franklin students have been chosen as Peppler Assistants for the spring term. These students are working in three different area teams under the direction of several Franklin professors. The 2007 Peppler Assistants include: Sarah Kellogg, Emily Nelsen, Alejandra Santa, and Alyssa Noe Steadly, doing research in Cultural Studies in conjunction with Professors Steinert Borella and Wiedmer; Tabitha Grinnen-Anderson, Fleur Veldhuijzen van Zanten, and Alauna Yust, who have teamed with Professor Self in Communications; and Roxana Cazacu, Martin Capousek, and Samantha Wilde working with Professor Adams in Management and Innovation. The aim of the three groups is to do program analysis of like institutions thereby helping to articulate a Master’s program in a potential Institute for Culture, Communications and Innovation. Students began work on the project in early February and will continue through the rest of the spring term. In addition to their research, students have begun the organization of a spring workshop scheduled for June 2007.

The Peppler Assistantship program is named in honor of Dr. Willem Peppler, a trustee of the College who is supporting the development of a research institute at Franklin with a generous donation.
