Graduation and Commencement 2012

Franklin College Switzerland’s 2012 Commencement Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the Palazzo dei Congressi. The Palazzo dei Congressi is located in the lovely Parco Ciani, with its beautiful views of Lake Lugano (Palazzo dei Congressi, Piazza Indipendenza 4, CH - 6901 Lugano – view map). Family and friends of the graduates are welcome to join us for this memorable occasion. Details regarding the weekend events are included below.

Please be sure to make flight, hotel and other arrangements well in advance of the Commencement weekend. The Lugano Tourism website contains useful information, about airports, hotels, car rental, etc., in several different languages.

Alumni Council sponsored Lake Lugano boat cruise honoring the Class of 2012

6:30 PM	Check-in and Boarding, Imbarcadero Paradiso
7:00 PM	Departure, Imbarcadero Paradiso Note: Please be on time. The boat will begin boarding at 6:45 PM and leave on time, not returning until 9:00 PM.
7:15 PM	Prosecco Toast Wine and Hors D'Oeuvres will be served following the toast
9:00 PM	Return to Imbarcadero Paradiso

There will be a coffee before the Awards Ceremony in the Kaletsch Campus Conference Room and on the back lawn.

Awards Ceremony
Please join us in the Franklin Auditorium (Kaletsch Campus) for an Awards Ceremony that celebrates the leadership accomplishments and academic achievements of students, faculty and staff during the 2011-2012 academic year.

6:30 PM

Monte San Salvatore Graduates' Dinner
A dinner overlooking the Lake of Lugano and its surroundings is hosted by the Office of Student Life for all graduates and their guests. More information will be available in the spring.

3:00 PM

Graduate Arrival
It is mandatory that all participating graduates arrive at the Palazzo dei Congressi no later than 3:00 PM.

3:15 PM

Faculty and Trustee Arrival
Participating Faculty and Trustees should plan on arriving at the Palazzo dei Congressi no later than 3:15 PM.

4:00 PM

Commencement Ceremony
The Commencement Ceremony will begin at 4:00 PM and be followed by a reception at the Palazzo dei Congressi.

The 2012 Commencement address will be announced at a later date.

Note: Doors will open for guest seating in the Main Hall of the Palazzo dei Congressi at 3:00 PM.

5:30 - 7:00 PM

Commencement Reception
A reception in honor of the Class of 2012 and their families will immediately follow the ceremony.
