Policies and Procedures

Borrowing

All borrowing is done through the circulation desk. The student assistant will assist patrons in locating and checking out books and other library materials.

Due Dates

Books
Students may borrow books from the library for 2 weeks at a time. The due date is stamped in the back of the book at the time it is borrowed. Students are responsible for knowing when a book is due. No reminder e-mails are sent.

DVDs and Videos
Students may borrow circulating videos and DVDs from the library for 1 week at a time. Students are responsible for knowing when a DVD or Video is due. No reminder e-mails are sent.

All books, DVDs and videos are due back to the library before Academic Travel or the end of the semester, depending on in which half of the semester the borrowing occurs.

Renewals
The book(s) DVDs and videos may be renewed before the book is overdue without penalty until Academic Travel or the end of the semester, depending on in which half of the semester the borrowing occurs.

The philosophy of the Franklin College Libraries is that all information should be available to anyone who needs it at any time. Hoarding library items does not support this philosophy.
