Fines

Fine Accruel
There is a ONE DAY grace period before a library book is considered overdue.

Fine Assessments and Notices
Fines accrue at the rate of CHF 10.00 per week. Fines are assessed on Thursday afternoons. Fine notices are placed in student mailboxes when fines are incurred.

Lost Books
After four fine notices have been delivered to the student’s mailbox, the book is deemed to have been lost. The librarian will determine the replacement fee for the book, notify the student, and add that amount to the already-accumulated fines in the student’s account. There will also be a CHF 50.00 processing fee to replace the lost book.

Fine Payment
All Fines are reported to the bursar’s office when they are incurred. The Bursar’s office will add Library fines to a student’s financial record.
Fines are paid at the Bursar’s office, or included in the general billing. The library will neither accept nor process fine payments.
