Other Regulations
Noise Noise is always a problem. Noise will become worse as the semester progresses, and the crowding in the library becomes denser. Some students require absolute silence to study. Others require a low level of background noise. Listening to your music in your headphones is OK at a low level. If you listen at a volume audible to others, this may annoy other students trying to study. Please consider your neighbors. Penalties for Noise Violations Violators can be expelled from the library, have their library privileges revoked and/or be fined CHF 50.00 per incident. If the noise level of one person or a group of persons is deemed too high by library patrons, the circulation desk assistant has the authority to expel that person or persons from the library. Food and Beverages Food and beverages are NOT PERMITTED in the library. If it isn’t capped and bottled water, it isn’t allowed. Penalties for Food and Beverage Violations Fines are CHF 50.00 per item, reported immediately to the Bursar, Assistant Dean and the offending student.
