Summer Meal Options

Traditional Plan

Franklin College offers a variety of Meal Plan Options for students in the summer. Our traditional plans are available in both three and six week increments: CHF 250 or USD 220 for the 3-week session and CHF 500 or USD 440 for the 6-week session. The meal plan will include 7 meals per week (lunch, dinner or breakfast). However, the chip can also be used as a declining-balance account, allowing students to deduct the actual cost of items less than the daily meal option.

The Traditional Plan can be purchased before arriving at Franklin in a number of ways, including online at Payment Options.

Open Plan

Additionally, an Open Account Plan can be purchased directly from our Grotto after arriving at Franklin.  The Grotto, FC's "grab and go" eatery, located on the Kaletsch Campus is a place to rejuvenate in a relaxing laid-back atmosphere. At the Grotto, you can use your meal chip, cash, or credit card to purchase coffee, drinks, snacks, and a wide variety of other food items, including burgers, veggie burgers, salads, pasta, wraps, and a daily local special.

Payment Deadline

Invoices will be sent to students after they are accepted to the summer session. The payment due date for Summer Session 1 and 2 is May 14 and the due date for Session 3 is June 4. Late payment fees will apply after these payment due dates. For students accepted after payment due dates, invoices are payable within 10 days of invoicing or before the first day of class, whichever first applies. No student will be admitted into courses or residences if full payment has not been remitted.

Refund and Cancellation Policies

There is a refund of 75% of the tuition for courses dropped within the schedule change deadline (drop/add). Students who withdraw from a class within the first week will receive a 50% refund of tuition. There are no tuition refunds thereafter. The housing fee is not refundable.

Late Withdrawal Fee

Withdrawals from the program must be communicated in writing. A withdrawal is considered late when it is received after the withdrawal deadline specified for each summer session (May 14 for Summer Session 1 or 2 and June 4 for Summer Session 3). A late withdrawal fee of CHF 450 or US $390 will be assessed in such cases. Payment will be refunded in full for withdrawals received before the specified withdrawal deadlines.

Medical and Accidental Insurance

All students are responsible for their own accident and medical insurance coverage. Generally this is easily obtained by extending existing medical and accident insurance to include worldwide coverage during the time the student is away from home.

Note:

Franklin College reserves the right to modify or cancel courses or programs as may be required by unforeseen circumstances. In cases of cancellation by Franklin College, all payments will be refunded in full.
