Franklin Fund Results

Thanks to the generosity of Franklin's many supporters, the Franklin Fund finished another successful fundraising year on June 20, 2010. The Fund  received the most money of any single year in its history, with more than $330,000 in gifts from more than 500 donors. Green Leaves Fund

A Franklin friend, Leander W. Smith, has provided Franklin College students and faculty with a new opportunity for personal and professional growth.  Mr. Smith, an American who has lived in Paris since 1983, has provided $100,000 in financial support for the "Green Leaves Fund," which will allow students and faculty members to cross disciplinary boundaries... Bequest Gift

Franklin College has received a generous bequest from the estate of the late Ashleigh E. Cocks, who studied abroad in Lugano as part of the Fleming program in the mid-1960s. Ashleigh made a provision in her will that granted Franklin College more than $20,000 through the College’s annual Franklin Fund. The gift reflects a life-long love of Lugano... Read More...

Valedictorian Gift

This year’s graduating class valedictorian, Nicholas Hasko ’09, received not only the top honors distinction but also a prize watch from Grimoldi Milano, generously donated by alumna Chen Chu ’03. Currently the CEO of VABENE Italy, an edgy fashion watch brand under the Grimoldi family label, Chen works at the Grimoldi watch headquarters in Milan. Read More...


Senior Class Gift 2009

The Class of 2009 graduated in May but left behind a tribute to Franklin – the senior class gift. This year the seniors voted on a water fountain in the North Campus Academic Building. The senior class gift campaign, led by class representative Emily Boynton of Aurora, Colorado, raised more than $2,600 to sponsor the installation of the fountain. Read More...

Malhas Family Gifts

Mr. and Mrs. Ammar Malhas know the value of a Franklin College education, having entrusted both of their daughters to the College as students. Zein Malhas '07 served as valedictorian of her class. Taroub Malhas graduated with academic excellence and was one of the top valedictorian candidates in her graduating class of 2005. Read more...

F. Allen and Louise K. Turner Foundation Gift

Dr. Louise Turner, founder of the F. Allen and Louise K. Turner Foundation of Auburn, Alabama, recently contributed a gift to host an environmental creative writing workshop entitled “The Prose of Place: Landscape in Nonfiction.” The workshop will be led by acclaimed author Gary Ferguson, former interpretive naturalist for the U.S. Forest Service. Fowler Library Opens on North Campus

Thanks to the generosity of Angela W. Fowler ’75, Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Franklin College Switzerland now has a solution to the ever-escalating burden placed on our existing library resources with the establishment of the Fowler Library. Faber and Lowerre Families Fund Design Center

Franklin College students are now using state-of-the- art equipment and software for graphic design projects. A donation from Mr. and Mrs. Claus Faber (parents of Marc Faber ’07) and their business, CMF Advertising, along with a challenge gift from Trustee Paul Lowerre ’75 and his wife Ursula ’76, made the creation of the design center possible. Tone Family Establishes Trust for Athletic Center

Trustee Pascal Franchot Tone was one of the founders of Franklin College, served as its President from 1973 to 1979 and is currently head of the Advancement Committee of the Board of Trustees. Tone has combined his love of athletics and his commitment to the College by establishing a Charitable Remainder Unitrust for Franklin College athletics. Read more...



Mosler Global Economic Forum

Several years ago, Mr. Warren Mosler visited the Franklin College Campus as a guest lecturer at the invitation of Professor Andrea Terzi. Mosler, president of Valance Corp and a key founder of EPIC, the coalition of Economic Policy Institutions, has provided funding to start the annual Mosler Global Economic Forum. Read more...



David and Marri Moffly Create Scholarship in Memory of David Eichler

Peppler Assistantships Provide Seed Funding for Proposed Institute

Trustee, Dr. Willem Peppler of Montagnola, Switzerland has funded the Peppler Assistantships to provide seed funding for an Institute for Culture, Innovation and Communications. The assistantships support five professors who have come together to form the institute. Read more...
