Eichler Scholarship
David Moffly ’83 and his wife Marri have made a huge difference in the life of a Franklin College student with the creation of the Eichler Scholarship in honor of longtime friend and mentor David Eichler.
Eichler was a pillar of the community, a role model for young adults and a successful businessman who combined all his talents with an unparalleled sense of humor and creativity. In fact it was Eichler who encouraged a young David Moffly to attend Franklin College, an experience that proved to be life-changing. Moffly wanted to show his appreciation of Franklin in a special way by creating a scholarship that recognizes the strengths and traits that David Eichler represented — leadership, academic dedication, honesty, hard work and responsible citizenship.
The first recipient of the Eichler Scholarship was May Taher, from Bahrain. She notes that the scholarship will provide more opportunities and experiences than she ever dreamed possible and that receiving it has done more than inspire her—it's given her the means to act on her inspiration. For more information on how to contribute to the Eichler Scholarship or on how to create a similar gift, please contact the Office of Advancement.
