F. Allen and Louise K. Turner Foundation Gift

Dr. Louise Turner, founder of the F. Allen and Louise K. Turner Foundation of Auburn, Alabama, recently contributed a gift to host an environmental creative writing workshop entitled “The Prose of Place: Landscape in Nonfiction.” The workshop will be led by acclaimed author Gary Ferguson, former interpretive naturalist for the U.S. Forest Service and author of 15 nature and science books. Since forming her foundation in 2001, Dr. Turner has searched for funding projects that combine her love of the arts with her respect and affection for nature. Dr. Turner commented, “What better place to be creatively inspired than the Franklin College Switzerland campus and the beautiful surroundings of Lugano and the Ticino region.
