14.00	Finding Success at Franklin The Dean of Student Life and other Senior Administrators engage in discussion providing tips, suggestions and advices for a successful Franklin College experience. Auditorium, Kaletsch Campus
14.30	Orientation Group Meeting Campus tour and group activities lead by the Orientation Leaders. Depart from Auditorium, Kaletsch Campus

10.00	Writing Sample (new and transfer students only) Required of all new and transfer students, the Writing Sample serves as a benchmark for measuring students' writing competencies and as a placement test for non-native speakers of English. Academic Building Classroom 8, North Campus
10.00	Study Abroad Meeting: Wise Words (study abroad students only) An open question and answer session with Dean Guggiari and Dean of Admissions, Karen Ballard, regarding great travel opportunities, ways to save money on travel expenses and advice for making the most of your time at Franklin. Fowler Library, North Campus
11.00	The Office of Student Life Introductions Meet the staff and get information to help you in your daily life at Franklin and in Lugano. This meeting will also help you navigate the academic resources at Franklin. Find out how you can get the academic experience you deserve. 15.00	First-Year Seminar Meeting Your first meeting with Professor MacKenzie and the students in your first-year seminar. Introduction to the course, the syllabus, and expectations. Professor MacKenzie will also lead a crash course in Survival Italian to provide you with some basics for your first forays into Lugano.
